Perth to Albany and Denmark: an electric south-coast break
A five-day EV itinerary from Perth to Albany and Denmark, with a dedicated travel day each way, coastal exploring and charging checked before regional legs.
Give the south coast enough days to justify the drive. This suggested five-day break separates the longer Perth transfers from the days spent around Albany and Denmark. Two nights in Albany and two in Denmark leave room for coastal scenery, changing weather and a full day around William Bay without turning every morning into another hotel checkout.

5 days. Room to enjoy it.
Day 1
A proper travel day to Albany
Treat the southbound drive as the main activity. Plan rest and charging stops along the chosen inland route before leaving Perth, and verify each important charger in the current operator app. Williams and Kojonup are useful towns to include in your route planning, but your exact stop depends on the car and current station access. Arrive in Albany with enough time to check in and eat without another long coastal detour.

Day 2
Explore Albany without changing base
Use a full day for Albany’s town, harbour and a chosen coastal excursion. The Gap and Natural Bridge are options to check against current park access and weather. Keep a sheltered-town alternative for a windy day. Returning to the same accommodation makes it easier to fit charging around time when you are already parked, rather than treating every attraction as another energy deadline.

Day 3
Move west to Denmark
Leave Albany after checking the next charging option and continue to Denmark. Keep this transfer deliberately short so there is time for a town stop and settling into your new base. Save William Bay for a fuller visit rather than racing to the beach with the car still packed. Confirm any accommodation charge for the next two nights and retain a public fallback.

Day 4
Give William Bay a full day
Choose Greens Pool and the Elephant Rocks area when current access and coastal conditions suit. Check WA Parks updates before leaving because improvement works can affect paths and access. Plan a picnic or return to Denmark for lunch, and do not add a remote extension simply because the map looks close. The full day lets you work around the weather without losing the destination to another long drive.

Day 5
The return is its own itinerary
Enter the full route back to Perth and select rest and charging stops before checkout. Use current operator information to confirm important regional stations, especially if taking a different road north. Keep this day for travelling home; adding Walpole, Pemberton or a long forest detour changes the trip and may justify another overnight stop. Save an alternative charging plan while you still have a comfortable buffer.

Useful answers
Your trip questions, answered.
Is five days enough for Albany and Denmark from Perth?
Five days allows a travel day each way and three days around the south coast. Add nights if you want Walpole, Pemberton or a longer forest route; those extensions need a revised charging plan.
Does this route require a four-wheel drive?
The suggested town-to-town itinerary follows main-road destinations and does not include beach driving. Check the exact access road and conditions for every optional attraction and choose a route suitable for your vehicle.
Can I visit Greens Pool during improvement works?
Check the current WA Parks page before departure. The park advises that infrastructure work can affect paths and access, so keep another local activity available if your preferred area is restricted.
